NaviGate 2018 will bring the most important operators in the maritime cluster to Turku on 16 and 17 May 2018. The key themes of this trade fair are the maritime industry, maritime logistics and shipping. The main elements of the event include seminars, briefings, networking, recruitment, research, development and training. NaviGate is held every two years.


The Finnish maritime industry is founded on world-class expertise and innovations. Once again, the NaviGate expo will offer up an interesting and interdisciplinary look into the sector’s industry and logistics in Turku, Finland on the 16th and 17th of May, 2018. Navigate, organized every two years, will feature topics such as maritime industry, maritime logistics and shipping. In 2016, the expo was attended by close to 200 exhibitors and 1,500 visitors, and participants from 8 countries took part in the matchmaking event. The main topics discussed in the NaviGate 2016 seminars were the digitalization of the maritime industry and future energy solutions. The seminars also discussed the improvement of competitiveness and production efficiency in the industry. In terms of the maritime industry and logistics themes, Subcontractors’ Day hosted by Meyer Turku and Turku Traffic Day at the expo. Taking place in Turku at the same time as NaviGate 2016 was the European Maritime Day (EMD) conference, which also collaborated with NaviGate. Visitors made up of the sector’s experts were shuttled between both events.


The Finnish maritime cluster consists of some 3,000 companies, 50,000 employees and EUR 12.7 billion in net sales. The maritime cluster operates in several market areas, mainly in six market segments, which are cargo traffic, cruise traffic, car ferry and ro-ro traffic, offshore production of oil and gas, offshore production of renewable energy and public demand. In the future, special focal areas could be, for example, Arctic know-how, battery technology, hybrid energy solutions and digitalization.
